Stein, Gertrude. "The House Was Just Twinkling in the Moonlight."

  1. The house was just twinkling in the moon light,
And inside it twinkling with delight,
    Is my baby bright.
Twinkling with delight in the house twinkling
    with the moonlight,
Bless my baby bless my baby bright,
Bless my baby twinkling with delight,
In the house twinkling in the moon light,
Her hubby dear loves to cheer when he thinks
and he always thinks when he knows and he always
knows that his blessed baby wifey is all here and he
is all hers, and sticks to her like burrs, blessed baby

I think that this poem again wants to show the confidence of men. Taking in consideration that the speaker in the poem at first is the husband, it seems that he appreciates his wife and everything about her. She's beautiful, smart, but most of all, she is there for him. The speaker switches to the wife at the latter part of the poem in which the wife notices his admiration, however, she says that he sticks to her like burrs. I'm from an area in which we have burrs and when they stick to you, they don't feel really good. She also mentions that he cheers when he thinks, and he thinks when he knows. Again, this shows the confidence of the man and how sure he is that his wife is his and belongs only to him.
